Best friends Matt and Jay have spent years attempting to book a show at Toronto's legendary Rivoli club despite the relatively significant obstacle that their band has never actually performed. Their latest scheme somehow escalates into a deliriously inventive adventure involving friendship, obsession, increasingly terrible decisions and, eventually, time travel.

Nirvanna the Band the Show the Movie takes the cult comedy series created by Matt Johnson and Jay McCarrol and goes completely off the rails with it—mixing deadpan comedy, documentary-style filmmaking, elaborate cinematic references, science fiction and two grown men pursuing a ridiculous dream with absolute sincerity.

You don't need to have seen the series.

You don't need to understand why any of this is happening.

You probably just need to go with it.

Fresh GMO-free Amish popcorn and cold beverages will be served. Come early and browse—the bookstore stays open after hours exclusively for Movie Night guests before the film.
