For more than sixty years, rock stars checked into the Sunset Marquis.

Some of them even remember what happened.

If These Walls Could Rock takes us inside the legendary West Hollywood hotel that became an unofficial home base for generations of musicians—a place to hide out, make music, misbehave, recover, meet other artists and occasionally make a little rock & roll history. 

And the guest list is ridiculous.

Bruce Springsteen, Ringo Starr, Slash, Dave Grohl, Cyndi Lauper, Sheryl Crow, Morrissey, Nancy Wilson, Nile Rodgers, Roger Daltrey, Billy Gibbons, Steven Van Zandt, Gene Simmons, Gloria Estefan and plenty more tell the stories themselves, accompanied by archival footage and a considerable amount of evidence that musicians probably shouldn't be left unsupervised in hotels. 

Directed by Tyler Measom and Craig A. Williams, this newly released documentary is part music history, part old-Hollywood time capsule, and part collection of stories that apparently couldn't be told until now.

Tuesday nights, our upstairs Book Nook becomes a tiny after-hours cinema for documentaries, art films, cult classics, independent work, music, oddities and whatever else catches our eye.

Fresh GMO-free Amish popcorn and cold beverages will be served. Come early and browse—the bookstore stays open after hours exclusively for Movie Night guests before the film.

Independent bookstore. After hours. 20 seats. One good film every Tuesday night.

Advance tickets are recommended. There are only 20 places in the Book Nook.
