Humphrey Bogart is Rick Blaine, an American expatriate running a nightclub in wartime Casablanca, where refugees, resistance fighters, opportunists, Nazis, musicians and assorted lost souls pass through while trying to get out of Europe.

Then Ingrid Bergman walks through the door.

What follows is romance, espionage, sacrifice, politics, impeccable dialogue and one very complicated decision about an airplane.

Released in 1942, Casablanca gave us Bogart and Bergman, Claude Rains, Paul Henreid, Peter Lorre, "As Time Goes By," Rick's Café Américain and enough immortal lines to populate another half-dozen movies.

You've probably seen pieces of it even if you've never seen it.
