Movie Night in the Book Nook - December 8th 2026 - SAMSARA - Event Ticket
Movie Night in the Book Nook at Tecolote — After Hours
SAMSARA
No dialogue. No narration. No plot. And absolutely no need for any of them.
Filmed over nearly five years across twenty-five countries and photographed in extraordinary 70mm, Samsara is cinema built entirely from image, movement, music and juxtaposition.
From the filmmakers behind Baraka and Chronos—and part of the same extraordinary tradition of visual filmmaking we explored at Tecolote with Gods of Mexico—the film moves through sacred rituals, industrial landscapes, cities, wilderness, ancient traditions and startling scenes of modern life without ever telling us what to think about them.
The title comes from the Sanskrit word describing the continuous cycle of birth, death and rebirth. The film takes that enormous idea and simply lets us look.
Beautiful. Unsettling. Hypnotic. Occasionally strange. Samsara is less something you follow than something you experience—and exactly the sort of film that benefits from turning off the phones, turning down the lights and watching it together.
