Three afternoons. Five writers. One polished first draft.

Join award-winning journalist, author, and writing mentor Rex Weiner for an intimate three-day workshop devoted to transforming real-life experiences, ideas, research, and memories into compelling non-fiction stories.

Hosted by Tecolote Bookstore and the Todos Santos Writers Workshop, this small-group workshop will take place upstairs in the Book Nook at Tecolote Bookstore.

Over the course of three afternoons, participants will:

• Define the story they want to tell

• Learn practical story-structure techniques used by professional writers and journalists

• Discover how to shape facts and memories into an engaging narrative

• Receive constructive feedback and expert guidance

• Complete a polished 500-word first draft

Memoir, travel writing, journalism, personal essays, local history, family stories, and other forms of narrative non-fiction are all welcome. Writers of every experience level are invited.

New and returning writers are welcome. Previous participants may bring a new idea, revisit an existing piece, or deepen the storytelling techniques explored in an earlier workshop.

Enrollment is limited to only five writers, allowing time for personalized attention, thoughtful discussion, and meaningful feedback.

In-store: $1,700 MXN

Tuition includes admission to the complete three-day workshop.

About Rex Weiner

Rex Weiner is an author, prize-winning journalist, poet, screenwriter, and co-founder and co-director of the Todos Santos Writers Workshop, now entering its 14th year. His work has appeared in numerous national and international publications, and he has spent decades helping writers discover, strengthen, and develop their individual voices.
