Movie Night in the Book Nook at Tecolote — After Hours

ENO

A documentary that refuses to behave like a documentary.

Brian Eno has spent more than fifty years making music, producing records, creating visual art, experimenting with technology and generally approaching creativity from directions most people haven't thought of yet.

He helped pioneer ambient music, began his career with Roxy Music, and went on to work with artists including David Bowie, Talking Heads, U2 and Coldplay.

So naturally, the documentary about him couldn't simply be a normal documentary.

Director Gary Hustwit created ENO using custom generative software that assembles material from hundreds of hours of archival footage, interviews and music into different versions of the film.

Which means no two screenings of ENO are exactly the same.

This is less a traditional biography than a trip through Eno's ideas about creativity, chance, process, technology, collaboration—and the useful art of getting lost on purpose.

For artists, musicians, designers, thinkers, tinkerers and anyone curious about where ideas actually come from.

Come a little early—the bookstore opens after hours at 6:30 exclusively for Movie Night guests, so you can browse, grab your drink, claim a chair (or a patch of rug), fill up on popcorn and settle in.

Independent bookstore. After hours. 20 seats. One good film every Tuesday night.

Advance tickets are recommended and available online or at Tecolote Bookstore.

This is a digital ticket. Your name will be on the guest list at the door. All Sales Final.

NOTE: Door entry the night of the film without having an advance ticket is not guaranteed and does not include food or beverages as we can only plan enough for those we know are coming. No asking us to "hold seats". Advance tickets are available in-store and online.
