Elisabeth Chávez Rivera Literary Salon

Celebrating The Camalote’s Daughters

Friday, December 11, 2026 · 6–8 PM
Upstairs in the Book Nook at Tecolote Bookstore
Todos Santos, Baja California Sur

Some stories live for generations in the voices of women before they find their way onto a page.

Join Author Elisabeth Chávez Rivera for a literary salon celebrating The Camalote’s Daughters, the English translation of Las Hijas de El Camalote.

Enjoy a reading, audience Q&A, book signing, and time to socialize with the author and fellow readers over a welcome drink.

Our First Book Club Pick of the Season

We’re especially pleased to celebrate Elisabeth’s work because her book is Tecolote Book Club’s first selection for this season.

This salon offers readers an opportunity to meet the woman behind the story, hear about its origins, and bring their questions into the conversation.

About the Book

Rooted in Michoacán, The Camalote’s Daughters follows the memories and lives of women who helped build and sustain a community, often without recognition.

Through stories shaped by migration, absence, identity, and belonging, Elisabeth explores the ties between generations—and the ways a place continues to live within us even after we leave it.

It is an intimate journey into family memory, oral history, and the voices that deserve to be remembered.
