Join us upstairs in the Book Nook for a private after-hours Listening Room evening featuring Jenelle Aubade, Isobel Avian and Alane Brown.

Three distinctive creative voices come together for an evening of original music, poetry and storytelling—moving between individual performances, shared inspiration and the spontaneous moments that emerge when writers and musicians gather in one intimate room.

With only 20 seats, this is not a background-music night. The Listening Room is designed for close listening: a small audience gathered with the artists to experience their work without distance, distraction or a noisy room between performer and audience.

THE ARTISTS

Singer-songwriter and Tecolote owner Jenelle Aubade writes and performs original music and has released multiple independent albums and performed throughout Baja California Sur, including the annual Tropic of Cancer Music & Arts Festival.

Jenelle will share original songs, including music from her newest recording project produced with acclaimed Mexican producer Alf Moctezuma. Her latest single, Come Around, is available on Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music and other major streaming platforms.

Isobel Avian brings her own creative voice to the Listening Room, sharing work chosen especially for this intimate setting.

Her performance adds another dimension to the evening’s conversation between music, poetry and story—inviting the audience to settle in, listen closely and experience something that exists only in the room.

Alane Brown is a poet, writer, songwriter, musician and teacher whose creative work is deeply inspired by nature, the sacred and the changing seasons of human life.

Dozens of her songs have been recorded by the goddess spirituality choir Crow Women. Her newest collection, Bone Listener: Stories and Poems, brings together 25 stories and 25 poems exploring imagination, transformation and the quiet places where nature, spirit and human experience meet.

Alane will share poetry, stories and music during this special Listening Room performance.

The Tecolote Listening Room is a private, limited-seat event series created for audiences who want to experience original work up close.

With just 20 guests gathered inside the Book Nook, artists can share songs, poems and stories in the way they were meant to be heard—without distance, distraction or a noisy room between performer and audience.

Every Listening Room evening is different. Once the seats are gone, the room is full.
