Indie Film Night in the Book Nook at Tecolote — After Hours

The Sultan’s Women
A Special Tecolote Filmmaker Event with a Question & Answer session by the Filmmaker!

Two women. Both seek liberation. One will scandalize an empire. The other will become the mother of a new nation.

Join us upstairs in the Book Nook for an intimate screening of The Sultan’s Women, a historical feature docudrama from local Todos Santos director David Rabinovitch.

Set during the final years of the Ottoman Empire, the film follows two remarkable women struggling against the hidden systems of power surrounding them. One is an Ottoman princess confined within the secret world of the imperial harem. The other is a fearless writer and revolutionary whose defiance will help shape a new nation.

Their stories unfold through mystery, political intrigue, betrayal, and the private battles taking place at the heart of one of history’s greatest empires.

Starring Pelin Batu, Melike Günal, and Brenna MacCrimmon, The Sultan’s Women combines dramatic storytelling with a fascinating exploration of women, power, and liberation.
